I also had rheumatic fever as a child and I am not able to get a definitive answer as to whether it has any effect on joints as an adult. I have several joints involved, but so does my Mom, so I am thinking it may be heredity. Please let me know if anyone out there knows if arthritis in later years is a direct result of childhood rheumatic fever. I am 48 years old.
