i just had a colonoscopy and my doctor told me my colon was the largest he has ever seen. i had to have the procedure down twice and the second time he still had problems. because i have been constipated for so long my colon is also stretched out. i feel i have been eating very healthy. mostly salads, chicken, fish, vegetable and fruit. i exercise everyday. and i drink over 8 glasses of water a day. I will admit my fiber wasn't high. i also drink coffee and diet cokes. what do you recommend i should do. my doctor says hes not ready to do sugery. but i feel that if the problem isn't going to get any better should i wait a few years when i'm 50 or 60 to have surgery when i'm not in as good a shape as i am know. or is there more i can do with my diet such as get 30 or more grams of fiber and cut down on the raw veg. and maybe stick to smaller amount of cooked veg. as you can tell my head is spining and i don't know what to do i feel so desperate. thanks for listening, dolores sauls
