The mother has had untreated hep.c for 12 years, liver biopsy is scheduled in two weeks. A five year old daughter was tested for the hep. virsus. Results not back yet. How do they treat a child for hepatitis c transferred to the child. The MD told the mother that the child has a great chance to be caring this virsus, how will they treat someone this young. ?? The mother is to start on interferon after the biopsy, she has many signs and symtpoms of the hep. c chronic illness. thanks. We live in Penna. If the child has this could you suggest who should follow her. The mother acquired this 12 years ago with IV drug use. This is the first year since she was 14 that she is drug and liquor free. The mother is 40. thanks for your help. I have read about new advances for this hep. C treatment but am concerned for the five year old if she is positive for this virsus. I WILL BE ANXIOUS TO HEAR FROM YOU.
