i had surgery 3/31/01 cervical disk disectemy with fusion they took the bone out of my hip to put in my neck.The operation went great the pain that i was having in my right arm was gone immediately ,but i did not have my strength bacik in my arm,the doctor said it would come back.After 2 months of working my arm with a little 1lb barbell and then a 2 lb barbell i was getting my strength back, then 2 weeks ago i started losing my strength again and it seems to be getting back like it was before ,iam having a lot of pain in my neck severe at times feels like something tearing apart in my neck.then for my birthday on 6/20/01 i went back to the doctor he said he was concerned about the weakness in my arm and sent me for an mri. and iam telling you now i hope i never again, have to do that,when the noise would start up the vibrations of it would send severe pain into my neck feeling literaly like my spine was being riped out .I did make it through the test after messing it up several times ,i have had mri plenty of times and it has never felt like that,know that something is still not right with my neck ,doc says that it could be swelling and i may have to have cortizone shots into my neck,he also gave me a steriod pack to take for 6 days to see if that helps,wont find out my results of the mri until 6/29/. doc says that he is not worried about the pain he is concerned about the weakness in my arm,but sorry but iam concerned about both.has anyone had these problems too, need some advice thanks
