SEVERAL YEARS BACK I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH OSTEONECROSIS OF THE RIGHT HIP LEAVING ME IN NEED OF A TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENT ON THE RIGHT SIDE. SINCE THEN I HAVE DONE ALOT OF READING ON THIS DISEASE AND HAVE FOUND THAT A SIGNIFICANT NUMBER OF PHYSICIANS WHO PRACTICE AS GP'S DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THIS IS! NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM SHOCKED BY THIS. I AM GETTING READY FOR SURGERY AFTER THE FIRST OF 2002 AND WOULD LIKE SOME INPUT ON WHAT TO EXPECT IN REGARDS TO PAIN, REHABILITATION, MOBILITY, AND RETURNING TO LIFE NOT BEING DISABLED. I AM ONLY 39 YEARS OLD WHICH MAKES MY CASE DIFFERENT. MOST PEOPLE DON'T DEVELOP THIS UNTIL THEY ARE LATE 50'S AND OLDER. ANY HELP WOULD GREATLY BE APPRECIATED.
