I am a 21 year old female with idiopathic chronic gastroparesis. After trying all the meds and diets which didn't work, my doctor opted for the last method to help me as I weighed only in the 90 pound range and my delayed emptying was 10 hours just for a scrambled egg to get through! He put in a jejunostomy tube (J-Tube) in my small intestine to bypass the stomach completely. I can eat and drink by mouth still but in little quantities so I have to be careful to not end up as before, but this helps alot! No more nausea, cramps, pain except when I'm not care when eating by mouth. I get my nutrition enterally, the only downside is the formula can cost around $1,400 per month and isn't covered by most health insurance, but that's why you appeal. They're also working on a pacemaker for the stomach (just like for the heart) which can be placed by surgery, but it is supposedly still in the research stages. Good Luck!!
