For the past year, I have experienced severe stomache pains, followed by the chills, hot flashes and nausea. The pain seems to be directly across the center of my stomache. Sometimes the pain is so intense that I vomit. Afterwords, the pain seems to go away, and I feel completely normal (appetite back to normal as well). Sometimes, I also experience diarrea as a result. I am constantly feeling bloated and full of gas. I am on prevacid, but sometimes it doesn't even seem to work. An ultrasound indicated alot of gas on the left side of my body. Sometimes I Can feel the pressure especially in the lower portion of my left side, front and back of the body. It is not painful, but an awkward feeling. I also noticed that I am not digesting foods as I should be. Through process of elimination, it seems that certain foods trigger this pain. I had thought I was lactose intolerant for a while and took lactate pills before dairy meals. This worked for a few months and I was fine-eating whatever I wanted. Suddenly, the problem came back and I find that trigger foods are garlic, onions, tomatoe sauce, salad dressings that are spicey and high in accidity, fried foods and heavy cream sauces. I had thought perhaps it was a food allergy because I have never experienced a pain like this. I had seen an Allergist, whose suggestions did not really work. I had a problem several years back with constant diarrea and after several tests that revealed major stomache spasms, found exercise and diet to be the remedy. I find it very frustrating dining out as well, because restaurants are not very accomodating as to the foods I can eat. Italian food is always out of the question! I am wondering if anyone has symptoms similar to mine and if this is something I should worry about? Could this be a digestive problem?
