HELP!! I was recently diagnosed with a rare joint disease called lipoma arborescens, a condition where fat cells collect in the joints, causing inflammation and pain--particularly in the wrists and ankles. My rheumatologist said that very little research had been done on it because so few people have it. Presently, he is treating the pain with Vioxx and Hydrocodone. I have searched the web extensively but have found very little information. I did read that the disease is sometimes called villous lipomatous proliferation. I would be interested in hearing more on the subject if anyone has information on it.
