I fell at work on ice in Jan. of 01. Since this is a workman's comp case I have gone round and round. So far, I have had an MRI that showed a central bulge of the L5-S1 disk. I had physical therapy for 6 weeks (which helped) and have now had 2 epidural steroid injections. 1st was more to the left, and the 2nd (I had it on Monday) was central. Both have seemed to help. I'm not sure how much improvement I will have, and how much will be permanent but I'm still trying. I hope I can avoid surgery. Is there anything else that I can do to help?
