Hi, I was wondering if there is anybody else out there who has a 'simple' kidney cyst? I had an ultrasound a few years back and they found a small cyst about the size of a dime. Then this past October/2000 I had another ultrasound and they found that the cyst had grown, it was now 13cm. They just kept telling me that it was nothing to worry about. Since these kinds of cysts don't become cancerous. I had another ultrasound a month ago and the cyst has grown another 4cm since then! It is now 17.5cm x 16cm x 12.5cm! It's about the size of a cantaloupe! I have been experiencing a lot of pain the last few weeks. When I was getting my ultrasound done the last time, the lab tech was very concerned and told me that I should get that taken care of because it is pushing up against my pancreas and my spleen. I think it is also crowding out my stomach. I experience the most pain after I eat. So I am assuming that my stomach expands when I eat and that's why it's causing the pain. It's getting pretty crowded in my upper abdomen and I don't think that is very healthy! My upper abdomen is sticking out so much that it looks like I'm pregnant! My CT scan isn't booked until this August. That means I have to put up with a fat stomach and bad pains for another 2 months. I was just curious if anybody else has had this experience and what was done about it? I have written on other message boards but I never get a reply. I have wondered if maybe I have PKD since my blood pressure has always been very high. I'm just really frustrated because this has been going on for a long time and I have had to push to get the ultrasounds done. Thanks for listening.
