Hi! I'm more concerned with your aggravating your work injury than finding a medication that will reduce your pain. Did you document this work injury? If not, do so immediately. Then, find yourself a new doctor who will listen to you about your injury and prescribe you a medication to help with your pain and will set limitations on what you can not do at work. Your elbow is never going to get better if you aggravate it every day. You are only going to make matters worse and living with chronic pain can cause the sympathetic part of your CNS to malfunction. I know because I too had an elbow injury (epicondylitis). I did just what you are doing now - working with pain every day. The results was that I now have RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy) or as it is now referred to CRPS (Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome). Don't let this happen to you. Please find a new doctor and get restrictions immediately. RSD or CRPS is not curable. It is only managed by nerve blocks and epidurals. If you want to talk more about your work injury, please email me.
