Hi When I was 15 , I had a small wound on my right arm . I had developed this habbit of constantly fiddling with it .It took me 2/3 years to realise that I should consult a doctor . He gave me some medicines and the wound got healed..Years later , I had this feeling of excruciating pain in that area ( wound ) at times . I consulted another skin specialist ..and he told me that the area around the wound had lost its sensation ...But he insisted that it wasn't leprosy . He however prescribed Dapsone and R-cin which I am told is given to leprosy patients . I have been taking dapsone for last 4/5 years ..The pain has gone ..but whenever I stop taking the medicine ..I do feel the pain near my wound at times ..what should I do ? I have shifted to another city and I am not in touch with the doctor whom I had earlier consulted. Is Dapsone prescribed to non-leprosy patients ? Please advise.
