'm not a memeber (but am going to join) here so I dont know the system works, but I feel it's important that you talk to someone about your newly diagnosed 6 yr old. Also it is not uncommon at all to be diagnosed late in life. Most children are diagnosed by age 3 but so many are diagnosed late in life. I know of a 55 yr old just diagnosed this year. Totally amazing. But yes it's quite a shocker to go on for 6 years thinking life is Ok , then to get news that you child has a geneticly inherited disease. Take care.
