I recently took my 9 year old son to the doctor. He had a swollen belly button and a rash around it. His genitals were very red. The doctor told me it was a strep infection. I had no idea that you could even get strep in those areas. I am not sure that I even understand what it is. He is on an antibiotic right now. The infection keeps oozing from his belly button (which the doctor said it would) and he tells me that it stings Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know what causes it? Please reply.
