My mother is 60 years old and was told one month ago she has stomach cancer. They tried an operation to remove the stomach but when they opened, they saw mets in peritoneum and decided not to remove anything. They then advised to have chemotherapy before an eventual surgery. Could anybody tell me what is really the hope that chemotherapy works in such a case and the possibilities that my mother can be operated later? Thank you very much.
