MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN IN AND OUT OF HOSPITAL SINCE OCTOBER 2000 WITH DAMAGED URTER TUBE AND A BLOOD MASS BEHIND THE RIGHT KIDNEY WHICH URINE SEEP INTO RESULTING IN HIS HAVING A TUBE IN HIS RIGHT KIDNEY WHICH DRAINED BOTH KIDNEYS AND A TUBE IN THE BLOOD MASS TO DRAIN THE BLOOD AND URINE FROM THE CAVITY. WE HAVE BEEN RETURNING ONCE A MONTH SINCE DECEMBER 2000 FOR A CHECKUP AND TO EXCHANGE TUBES IF NECESSARY. HOWEVER LAST MONDAY HE ENTERED THE HOSPITAL TO HAVE HIS PROSTATE "CLEANED" AND ALL THE TUBING WAS TAKEN OUT. HE WAS PUT IN ISOLATION AND I WAS TOLD THAT HE HAD BRE INFECTION AND NO ANTIBOTICS WOULD HELP. THIS WAS THE FIRST I KNEW OF IT AND I AM SURE THAT HE HAD IT FOR THE LAST MONTH HE WAS HOME. WE HAVE FAMILY IN AND OUT, WHAT IS THE HIGH RISK TO THE FAMILY? I AM PUZZLED WHY I WAS NOT INFORMED AND DISCUSSION TO ME WHAT I SHOULD BE DOING.
