My son also had chronic ear infections as a young child. Tubes helped, but did not last long. Before the 4th set was placed in I mentioned to the doctor that I had read adenoid removal often helped. My son had his adenoids taken out when the 4th set of tubes were inserted. That was when he was in 1st grade and he is now a HS freshman. He has only had a handful of ear infections since then! Good Luck! I sure know the pain you feel seeing your child suffer!
