Welcome to "the club". Actually, there's not much you CAN do (I had it 4 yrs ago - also, Disney World bound and unfortunately I've had it for the past 3 days after being symptom free for over 3 years. Stretching the Ham string helps (your Doctor should show you, or better yet....ask if you can go to a physical therapist. Mine was GREAT) Wearing shoes that have good support and using a heel pad helps (a good pair of sneakers would be good in Disney World),You do not want to slam that heel on hard surfaces while walking. When we went to Disney W, I requested a room near the elevators (reducing the "walking") and there were several days that we rented a wheel chair when we all went to the theme parks. It wasn't always neccessary, but knowing that I could SIT whenever it hurt was VERY comforting (besides, the kids would take turns sitting on my lap or "pushing" the chair.) Walking won't do damage (although it feels as if your entire heel is being split open. I thought I had a "nail" in my shoe for several days before I realized what it was. Stretching, ice, good shoes, ibuprofen, and a good physical therapist who treats sport injuries is the way to the quickest recovery. PS I first went to a Podiatrist who wanted to OPERATE. I then went to an orthopedic surgeon who gave me a shot of cortisone and sent me to physical therapy :)
