I have been recently hospitalized for acute diverticulitis. A CT Scan revealed that there was a hole and it was leaking. However; at that time, the hole was walling itself closed and with a few days of antibiotic treatments with IV, the infection cleared up. They attempted surgery but it had to be stopped due to the fact that the doctors couldnot get the tube down my throat? The doctor told me that to call him in 4 weeks and maybe he would attempt it again in 6 weeks. I feel if it healed by itself maybe surgery should not be considered. I am not that willing to go through the inconvienience. Could anyone tell me what other options I have like maybe there is medication that can clear it up as well as a diet to follow?
