Stacie, I know your concern dates back to May, but I just saw it. Tell your brother to hang in there. My husband, who is 74 years old, became the victim of Bell's Palsy a year ago this coming October (around the middle of the month). It took about 7 months for his face to slowly return to normal. It is now 98% normal; one would never guess he had Bell's palsy. He still has stiffness around his mouth, and although he looks normal when he talks, he says his mouth feels stiff. His physician says it may be a good year or more before the stiffness goes away, but she believes it will go away. Tell your brother that there are two things a victim of Bell's Palsy needs as it is a slow process with many people. He needs patience and, above all, a sense of humor. He WILL recover! It is very important for him to have a positive attitude because it definitely helps. If my 74-year-old husband recovered nearly completely, so will your brother because it is far easier for a younger person to recover completely than for an older person. I would be delighted to hear from you that you received this message.
