Ask how many surgeries have they done. How many have had complications. What type of complications can occurr. What do they do to stop those complications. How long does it take to heal. What type of anethesic are they using (local, general). Are they available after surgery for any problems. Do they treat complications agreesively or minimally? Is the hospital have a good reputation for this type of surgery? Remember this is not a slam dunk. They acted that way with me and most people I talked to had very good experiences. But I have had dry eye syndrome ever since. Had my vision corrected but I'm in constant discomfort to pain even with punctum plugs put in to help keep my natural tears so I don't lose them. If not, I can have corneal abrasion and lose my vision. I personally feel the after care medications (topical) caused the problem. Discuss this with your doctor too. Hope your experience is a perfect one. Don't want to scare you but don't go in thinking it can't happen to me either.
