My Dad has lung surgery on 12/13. His stay was extended from 4 - 6 days to 33 days, due to some complciations. He was overdoses with didgoxin (to lower his heart rate) spiked a temp of 104.?. He had no swelling that was noticed in the hospital. After being discharged he had real bad pain from his hip to his big toe. Severe pain in the foot, red/purple spots. Dr. checked him for blood clots and gout. Nothing. Theyi put him in the hospital and ran all kinds of test. Reflexes were not real good on the leg, ankle, foot that was hurting. No much swelling during this time. They put him on a steroid, which eliminated the pain, then swelling appeared in the left foot. No swelling in the right foot until 3 weeks later, Now both are huge. He has three doctors and all state they are not concerned with this swelling. He is being weened off the steroid, that they say has nothing to do with it. They put him on lasix and this is not relieving the swelling, although he is putting out fluids. They say just wait it out. Anyone out there know anything about this situation??
