Hello: I am a concerned Mom who has a 3 1/2 year son with no know health problems and nkda. He is very healthy but the last visit to the Dr. left us with the diagnosis of Granuloma Annulare. I will let you know what I was told, and if you have any information either confirming or contridictory, I would appriciate your mail and advice. According to what I was told, this "condition" is of unknown origin in children and adults, but cases in adults have been associated more with those people with diabities. No such findings in children and the only treatment or rather relief of symptoms is to us 2% Hydrocortisome cream. The Spots?? can range anywhere up to 8cm diamiter and usually start out on the outsides of the legs and feet area. They can be anywhere on the body, start as pimple type spots and grow. They look more or less like a ringworm and that they can come and go. Some may last for only a few months and some may last about 2 years. They may totally go away and appear healed and the come back after many years. I think that that about sums up what I remember him saying. I am concerned that it may not be something simple and even if so, Justin will be starting school in a year or so. I have people ask me already if he has "ringworm". even when you tell them what it is, Most are of the opinion that it is indeed "ringworm". Granuloma Annulare is not exactly well known. Like I said, if you have any info or advice please let me know. I almost forgot. Justin doesn't seem to have much discomfort of any sort after the ring is formed but the pimple phase does irritate. Thank you much. EMom
