Alcohol and coumadin do NOT mix. PE are nothing to be casual about. Nor is a DVT in either the legs or arms. There is no natural way to deal with this. It is necessary to have GOOD medical management which will entail the use of coumadin and a monitoring of the prothrombin time. If one has had just a single episode of a DVT, it is possible after some several months to get off the coumadin, but if there are repeated episodes, it will very probably require the coumadin routine for life.
