Hello my name is Linda, I'm in Australia and my 6 year old daughter has been diagnosed with EBV which has been confirmed with blood tests. I don't really understand alot about this particular disease and wish to know more from anyone out there who has been living with it. It all started about 2 weeks ago, my daughter's name is Savannah Rose and she became very tired and then feeling sick for a couple of days. It is always a battle to get her to eat food at the best of times but she wasn't interested in anything, then a severe fever had set in and then followed the vomiting..she couldn't stop and her body became very limp, she couldn't stand on her own feet i had to carry her to the car and rush to the doctor to check her out. When he saw her he told me to rush her to the hospital which i did but in the process she had fainted 4 times in the car to get to the hospital. I have never been so frightened in my entire life, my heart was in my throat, literally. The doctors rushed around her as i stood back and watched, i have never seen her so sick since she was born. I'm not sure what i can do to help her, people mention vitamins etc, but what type and why ??? i would appreciate any help or info people can tell me as this is all new to me and her. Will this stay with her for the rest of her life ? Will she suffer chronic fatigue syndrome later on in life ? what can i do to help her now ??? Any info would be great...goodluck to all the ebv survivors out there..
