I AM A 43 YEAR OLD FEMALE WITH HEMIDYSTONIA ON MY RIGHT SIDE. AFTER 4 YEARS OF ORAL MEDICATIONS, BACLOFEN, SINEMET, FLEXERIL, KLONOPIN,ZANAFLEX, LORTAB, ARTANE AND COGENTIN, NOTHING SEEMED TO WORK. FINALLY MY NEUROLOGIST SAID THE LAST ALTERNATIVE WOULD BE THE BACLOFEN PUMP. I HAD TO HAVE A SPINAL INJECTION OF 50 MICROGRAMS AND STAY IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 8 HOURS. AFTER 2 HOURS, I WAS WALKING WITHOUT CRAMPS, SPASMS, OR PAIN. IT WAS GREAT! I THEN HAD THE PUMP IMPLANTED ON 1-11-01. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO ALREADY HAS THE PUMP TO ASK SOME GENERAL QUESTIONS. THANK YOU
