Gary, Sorry you hurt so bad. It sounds like you traded one hip pain for another pain that is worse. I am sure I am not alone when I say I wish that I could have my hip replaced to get rid of the troch bursitis I have managed daily for over 7 years but the way I understand it the bursa and soft tissue around the joint are not replaced. I hope at this writing you're better and if so, let me know how you got better. I have had all the treatments from surgery to accupuncture which I still receive but I am still in pain and the only true relief I get daily is to take the pain medications which I despise but I would rather take them than suffer constantly.Let me know how you are doing and anyone else who has had recent surgery or anything that has helped trochanteric bursitis and the tight illiotibial band. Desperately seeking my life back, too young when this started at 33 and just turned 40 and I want the rest of my life back pain free. Let me hear from anyone who has some answers especially interested in how botox injections may help relax the illiotibial band which is irritating the bursa.
