i think the reason you get red painful eyes has nothing to do with a virus or bacteria. the reason i say that is because this samething happens to me. all it is , is that you are draining mucus through your tear ducts. it causes burning, and redness. you probably have sinus problems too. the sores in the mouth happen to some people when the get sick, or stressed. try eye drops for the eyes, and the mouth fortunately heals rapidly on it's own. good luck!
