I have been tested for dvt approx 3 months ago and told I did not have thrombosis. I hurt my back and was diagnosed as having a sciatic nerve problem, with the bones in bback herniated and pressing on my sciatic nerve. After having an orthopaedic surgeon shoot cortisone into my nerve, I had no joy from the pain, which starts in my mid right back/buttock, worse around knee and now shooting pains around knee, shin and ankle. I had an epideural approx 2 weeks ago, again with no joy. I have been VERY inactive due to the pain. I am not on any contraceptives, but smoke 4-6 cigs a day and do drink alcohol, which seems to alleviate the pain. I am due for another steroid epideural but am frantic to know if there is a possibility that I do have thrombosis
