I am seeking all available information on any correlation between fetal alcohol syndrome, in conjunction with reactive attachment disorder, and spiral fracturing of the lower extremities, particularly the tibia. Subject is a nine year old male, FAS/RAD on Ritalin, who sustained a spiral fracture from twisting an ankle. I am seeking to determine whether either of those conditions and/or the Ritalin therapy could produce [1]a high tolerance for pain and/or [2]a compromised bone density or structure that would leave the child at risk of fractures from less than ordinary stress on his bones. Any information or references you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
