Hi i am a mother of an 8 yrs old girl who is very bright but she is been having lots of problem in reading and word coding and more . after my research on dyslexia i am convenced that she is dyslexic..i 've been following through the past 2yrs doing eye exam, perceptual exam , and now i am stressing on the school to do some testing to determine her learning disability and to diagnose her with specific LD, which i believe is dyslexia. It is so hard, and break my heart when i hear her talking about things that bother her in her class such as being humiliated when she ask her teacher to read the q's again or explain it to her.i talked to her teacher many times and brought it to the principal attention that i need some things done fast they keep saying we are going to do some tests but don't they have some fast testing to determine what is the problem??. she my daugher is loosing time and her confident in her self. please if you could tell me if there is any extra help or any idea what kind of test determine and diagnose her with a specific LD. and how can i help her other than keep suporting her and keep telling her that she is going to do o.k ,and she is smart and bright..eventhough it is hurting me inside when i hear her strugling to code or read ..and i know she is trying her best i could see that and that hurt me more because she is trying to make me happy or make her dad happy .... i really appriciate your help Hanadi
