Help in Iowa
My husband hasa central disk herniation at c-5 with some spondylosis and narrowing of the right intervertebral foramen and has narrowing of the central canal at c6-7 & c5-6. We have seen a neurologist already that has said that there is nothing they can do to fix this. He is currently taking nortryptaline 75mg, to help with the pain. The pain has almost become unbearable for him. He also has numbness in his hands and arms, and has experienced weakness in his arms and hands as well. What options if any do we have. We have an appointment in the near future to see a neurosurgeon to see if they can fix the herniation and hopefully help my husband to become pain free after many years of constant chronic pain. Is there a cure for his constant pain, other than drugs?? Shouldn't I be concerned with the loss of feeling/numbness & weakness? Who should I pursue if I am not satisfied with the answer that we get from the neurosurgeon?? Then what?? I want him to finally experience life WITHOUT pain!
