I took Acutane for over a year. I spent over $6,000 plus what my insurance paid. I have what the dermatologist called a "mild" case of acne. He guaranteed that this wonder drug would get rid of the acne. Yes, it did get rid of the small amount of acne on my back and legs, but did nothing for my face. I am 30 now, and still have cystic acne. And, the acne is relapsing on my back. While the drug may do well for most, there are the few that it will not help. Please keep this in mind when the doctor "guarantees" cure - - he does this for a living and is not going to tell you not to spend the money!
