I have a close friend that as a result of severe endometriosis she has had several abdominal surgeries that have resulted in the majority of her intestinal tract being removed and she has had a colostomy. She continues to have severe pain and her doctors are recomending the removal of the remainder of her intestinal tract and the placement of a portal cap. I'm not sure that I have the terminology correct but she is very resistant to have this procedure done and is very concerned about the quality of life she will have afterwards. I am trying to help her through this but I don't know anything about this procedure or where to find out more about it. Any help would be appreciated. I am a veterinarian and have a good understanding of anatomy and physiology and medical terminology. Thank you
