I know that shellfish from saltwater causes gout but I was wondering if freshwater shellfish (crawfish)or any freshwater fish (catfish) would cause an attack. I don't know if they are in fact high in purine or not . Usually when I get an attack, its from eating alot of steak. Just getting over an attack that lasted over a month. Sure does feel good not to have the pain. If anyone knows if these foods will cause harm or not please e mail me
