About 5 years ago I had severe cervical dysplasia. I eventually had LEEP/conization done. My dysplasia also extended into the canal making the whole thing more complicated. The procedure was done in the doctor's office with just some sedation and local anesthesia (which was the only thing that really hurt). I had some cramping and bleeding afterward. Also my period was irregular for several months. The bottom line is: I'ver had normal PAP's every 6 months since the procedure. A leep/conization should not interfere with fertility or the ability to have a sucessful pregnancy. At the time I was going though all this it was very frightening, but now I look at it as just one more thing we women have to deal with. The guys have no idea how easy they have it!! Good luck to you all.
