My daughter will require the surgery--she is 14 with a 45 degree curve--you can't tell she even has this--it is a double curb. we live near Johns Hopkins and have spoken with the Head of Ped Ortho SUrgery with a specialty in scoliosis research. Sounds good but how do I go about making sure this is the best doc for this typeof operation--i certainly don't want to have any regrets--i will go or do anything to have the very best doc perform this operation. we are all scared to death over this entire thing. Before it was questionable as to whether she will need the operation or not, at this point, I am almost glad she passed the point of question--i have read so much regarding the curve increasing over years--when the operation is far more severe than in the early years. Any Any help with anything regarding surgery would greatly help us--we are all a mess with the whole idea--many a tear has been shed in this household--my daughter is actually stronger than me--altho when it comes to a Paper Cut on her finger she thinks THAT is terrible--sounds like we have a long road ahead of us. ANy thoughts....thanks so much.
