I am an active 40 year old woman.Was diagnosed with Protrusio and Dr has recommended hip replacement. I have gone the gamut of alternate treatments with only success found in Synvisc injections which have lasted 3 months. He is nervous about continuing as it is experimental. Ultimate treatment in his opinion is surgery. I am concerned about future activity. I ride horses, have a farm, drive a large truck. I am afraid of what the surgery will do to me long term. Anyone out there with advice or experience. Thanks.
