Dry Eye syndrome, the insufficient production of tears to lubricate the eyes, is one of the most annoying, torturous conditions and to date is considered "chronic", i.e. no cure! Constant irritation, itching and reflex tearing can drive to distraction sufferers of this affliction. Artificial tears, salves and closing of the puncta, all of which I've experienced, do not provide relief. Has anyone heard of a recent breakthrough for Dry Eye involving medication or a nutritional approach? If so, I would appreciate your sharing this information. Shame on the opthalmologic profession for not being more proactive in pursuing a remedy for this nightmarish condition!
