Tammy, I also had a goiter, along with nodules and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism, even though my doc did give me Synthroid (thyroid hormone replacement) the goiter shrunk after I started the meds and have found in my research that sometimes pts are given it just for that. I am now trying to get an eval with an endocrinologist or thyroidoligist(the thyroidologist would be best) and you also would probably benefit from that. Hope this helps.
