Hi, I am 22 and have been diagnosed with hypothyroidism and had a promblem with weight after my second child. I have done research and found that it is common for people with this to be insulin resistant and our bodies do not use carbohydrates effectively and when we eat them they are stored as fat, we become hungry, eat more, and gain weight. Since I have tried a low carb diet for about a month or so I have dropped two sizes! And, I feel better, more energy, not hungry all the time like before. Hope this helps, good luck!
