I have had 7 breast biopsies, called "Marked Fibrocystic Disease" and have had no problems since..40 some yrs ago. However, your friend's future lies with the diagnosis which her doctor will give her after submitting the mass to a medical lab..a pathlogist who can tell if it is cancer or not.. If the mass was cancer, there are many choices besides total mastectomy NOW so there is nothing YOU can do at ths point! If she has more of them, they should be removed before any other surgery is done to avoid double procedures. Lorane
