Bay's mom
Hi, I am 27 years old and was diagnosed with DDD about a year ago. My pain has been ongoing for over 2 years and after an initial diagnosis of Siatica and an MRI and CAT scan, I was diagnosed with DDD. I was told that DDD can be hereditary (as in my case) and that it doesn't have to be caused by any certain trauma. Unfortunately, this doesn't do much for me... although I am glad that I had 20+ years that were pain-free. I am currently seeing a pain management physician who isn't really doing anything for me. I am taking Ultram for pain and also antidepressents which are supposed to target the pain centers in the brain to help reduce the pain. Unfortunately, I am taking the pain meds round the clock every four hours on the dot and it is not working. The only thing that has helped was exercise, but it is tough when you are "down in the dumps" and feeling like heck to boot. Knowing that I will feel better doesn't always help me to get motivated to exercise... it is a vicious cycle! I would be interested in hearing about any treatments that anyone has had that have given relief. Thanks in advance. Also, please email responses. I am not sure how I found this site and can only hope to find it again.
