Recently underwent Colonoscopy to check for bowel cancer, as it is prevalent in the family. Have, since I was 12 yrs (am now 38) had symptons of sudden diorrhea and bad stomach cramps associated with same. This is within 1/2 to 1 hr after eating wheat, dairy, red meats. After have the above proceedures performed recently, the only problems which seemed to have been diagnosed where Melanosis COli & Helicobacter Pylori. In relation to Melanosis Coli - every article I've read (on the net) and according to my doctor - this is generally associated with people who abuse laxatives. I find this rather absurd in my case, as if I were to use laxatives, I would never ever ever leave the toilet!! So then, my question is: Why have I got Melanosis Coli?? One article of read advised that MC was associated with an increased incidence of Colorectal Tumors, however is not agreed to be a precancerous lesion. In relation to Helicobacter Pylori: Advised my doctor that I had been getting serious pains in and around my chest and stomach, however he advised the tests did not show any ulcers?? On viewing the video provided to me by the physician who performed the Colonoscopy & Endoscopy, I could clearly see, what seemed to be broken capilliaries around the walls of my colon. I could also view 2 small yellowish lumps attached to the side. However no comment was made on either of these 2 issues. Am I going quite mad?? Am I alone in this problem of being looked at like I may be a Nut, when I mention my seemingly allergic reaction to the foods I mention and stating that I have been like this since the age of 12 (which up until I was about 28, I thought was normal function of the bowel!!) Does anyone have a solution for me (other than the nut-house).
