I have recently found out that a close friend of mine was exposed to a large amount of asbestos while tearing out the insulation of an old house. He was working with his uncle and a friend. His uncle began having symtoms of the disease almost immediatly. His uncle is currently in very bad condition and dying from asbestosis. His friend has also been diagnosed with this disease. My friend was 18 at the time of his exposure and a doctor told him that, if he has the disease, it couldn't be detected until around 28 years of age. At the age of 23, he is worried more than ever because of his uncle's worsening condition. He doesn't know what to do because he doesn't know when he will loose his uncle and if he has the disease himself. Basically, we want to know if there is anything to do to prevent from having it so badly or at all. Should he take lots of vitamins and keep his heart and lungs in good shape by exercising? If anyone could help by emailing me information, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you
