My Tendon partially ruptured about 4 months ago. My 0rtho said it would heal with conservative treatment including Boot and crutches 6 weeks then exercise and patience. I now find that the tendon gap is larger and the doc says I now need surgery. He has suggested taking the tendon to the big toe , routing it thru the heel, up to the tendon. He says 6 weeks in cast/4-6 weeks in boot/ then therapy. Has anyone experienced this surgery, and what was the result? I have a little pain and weakness now but could probably live with it unless I hear someone who has the surgery who feels it was wothwhile. Should I live with the limp, or go for the surgery? Oh yes, the doc has only done this once.
