Hi, I saw your request. I don't know of any message boards - but I can tell you about my experience with PCOS. I was diagnosed about 6 or 7 years ago - and struggled with infertility as well. Just 5 weeks ago, I gave birth to our first baby - a boy named Luke! I didn't really address the PCOS at first since I wasn't interested in having children yet when I first found out. Several yrs ago we tried and had no success. We put it on hold for ahile and then tried again in 2003. I became pregnant right away, but lost the pregnancy at 10 weeks. After the miscarriage, i completely stopped ovulating -and didn't start again for about 8 months! I took Clomid for 2 months and that didn't work, so I spoke with a fertility specialist - who happens to be wonderful. The first thing she did was ask about my diet. She immediately put me on a low carb/low sugar diet and Glucophage to control the absorbtion of sugar in the blood. I did the diet and the Glucophage for 6 months (during which I lost 15 lbs from the diet)and then began with the fertility meds again. I took one dose of Serophene for two months with no success. Then the third month she had me take 2 does at the same time (all the while, I'm still doing the diet and taking the Glucophage)...apparently that did the trick! I continued taking the Glucopgange for another month - and was instrusted to continue the diet for life...but once I became pregnant - that was very difficult. I'm working on getting back on the diet now, but honestly, it's not an easy diet - you really have to WANT it! I've more to share if you're interested - but don't want to go on forever. If there's anything you want to know or you have any questions - or just want to chat...I'm here! I know how heartwrenching infertility can be! I had my miscarriage the day one of my best friends gave birth - and the very next day had to go the other best friends baby shower, so I do understand how devastating the emotions can be!
