I am a 35 yr. old female who has been seizure free since 1992, thanks to the Mt. Sinai Hospital in NYC. The only problem is that my medication slowed my metabolism to the extent that I have gained over 120 lbs. in six years, my menstruation is missing for long periods of time (amenorrea), I am always sleepy and tired and I have fallen into deep depression. I wish to know if theere is other meds. that I can take that won't destroy me like the Depakote medication is doing now. Thank you very much for your patience.
