My grandmother (age 81) was diagnosed with stage 3 pancreatic cancer in Sept. 2000 and given 4-8 months to live. The tumor is located on the head of her pancreas and is blocking her bile ducts. She currently has a stent in place and a billiary tube to drain bile. She is unable to eat solid foods and has lost approximately 30 pounds. She has also recently started having a gnawing pain in her abdomen and when her billiary tube was aspirated (this has to be done daily), blood drained from the tube. It is suspected that the tumor is growing around her stent and that sooner or later, no bile will drain from her tube. This situtation has been very difficult for my family, as my grandmother is the glue that holds my family together and she will be sorely missed when it's her time to go to the Lord. Her oncologist has not been helpful either, and we do not know what to expect from day to day as far as her condition is concerned. I would appreciate any info from people who have "been there, done that". If it wasn't for my Christian faith, I know I would be falling apart by now.
