My son age 35 was recently informed of above cholesterol levels. He has had 3 half-uncles who died in early or late 50's of heart disease. His doctor immediately put him on lipitrol. I am concerned about this drug therapy since I, his mother have very good cholesterol readings, better than normal according to my doctor and I feel that he should have dietary treatment before drug treatment at this age. Could I have some input into this matter. I might add that I know one of the uncles had heart disease related to high blood pressure and I am almost certain it was true of one of the others. These half uncles were much much older than he, they passed away in the early and late 1970's before technology in this area was this advanced. Sandra Emerick, Buchanan, Michigan
